Saved an XTL2500 from the scrap pile at one of my client sites. I ran the model number and it is VHF capable, and the radio was working before being put on the shelf a year or two back. These things apparently still sell for several hundred or more on ebay, I just like it because it's more rugged/durable than any ham mobile I've ever seen and would be perfect for running in the truck after getting the right antenna adapter to make it worth with my 2m whip. Model number: M21KSM9PW1AN Flashport code: _APPL5_ I'm assuming the Astro P25 Mobile CPS software I need is probably the same as any other Motorola CPS software...gotta buy it. That aside, is this radio worth using for 2m if I have to buy the mic and power/programming cables?
